Job Description

The successful Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing plant equipment is working in the most efficient manner.

Hyperbat is a new joint venture, which combines the strengths of William Advanced Engineering and Unipart Manufacturing. Hyperbat will be opening a new facility on Unipart Powertrain Applications site later this year. The new Company and factory will begin production of batteries in 2019 for the first customer Aston Martin. We now have a number of exciting opportunities for employees to be part of the future of the automotive industry. All roles are based at UPA, Coventry. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Take a lead role in managing and implementing the delivery of control and other site systems and ensuring these meet the user requirements, are on time and within budget
  • Provide support and implement a maintenance/backup strategy as required to ensure all systems are robust, resilient and are available when required
  • Design solutions for a complete project scope using PLC, MES, DCS & SCADA, including control philosophy, systems level design, database and middleware integration
  • Prepare and approve specifications, test protocols, or other documents to define functionality
  • Implement PLC & DCS code i.e. ladder & sequential code to an outline spec
  • Configure SCADA systems

The successful candidate will hold a degree or HNC/HND in an electrical engineering discipline and have in-depth knowledge or working with Control Systems ideally Siemens.
